Hello all. I'm going to do my best to share with you the past two days, but it won't be easy. I never imagined that leaving would be so hard, but I know that it's Gods plan for me now.
Friday evening was as fun as I anticipated. Julia, Heidi, Daniel and I went to the House of Martha to fix dinner and have some one on one with the big kids. It was so much fun playing and talking with them. They taught us a lot of the fun hand/singing games and songs (no I didn't sing). Daniel and i taught the boys how to play American football, well kind of:) We started with 5 on 5 and it ended up being a keep away game with all the kids. We will say my team won 2-1! After dinner we stayed for evening devotion which I video taped and cry every time I listen to it. We gathered in the living room and the kids worshiped/sang for about 15 minutes. It was breath taking to see the little ones being touched by the Lord. Very hard to explain!
Saturday was the best yet hardest day I've had. Our entire group went to the House of Martha to have lunch and spend the afternoon doing crafts and playing ball. Before going Julia and I went shopping to buy Masupa a pair of tennis shoes. He's been trying to teach me all week how to bounce soccer ball on my foot and very rarely does he have shoes on. He tried mine on the night before but they were too big. I was able to give mine to Abraham, the oldest boy, who also has tried teaching me to play soccer all week.
After lunch we started crafts with all the kids. They were coloring pictures, making picture frames, and Chinese stars. Each age group and something to make that they could keep. We had them make the picture frames out of paper and took pictures all day that we will print for
them this week. They all started making frames and notes for Julia and I. I have the sweetest frames, "I love you, God bless, thank you" notes to bring home. I will be able to decorate my entire office with crafts. It was the sweetest thing.
It was time to leave and I started saying goodbye...that's about the extent I can write for now. Pulling away from the house was awful...
I am not sure that I'll be able to blog again before leaving...I'm not able to keep it together right now.
I will check in when I can (maybe in a month or even a year:))
Love you all. Please pray for a few new kids that have come in (Beatrice, Isaiha, Mercy). We were at the House of Martha Friday night when CPU brought Beatrice to House of Martha. The kids were so good with her and welcoming. They weren't sure of her story yet, but she is probably 10-12 years old. Pray for all of the kids here please!
O honey, I'm sad for you but at the same time so glad for you. How God has touched your life this week! And knowing that He orchestrated the whole thing brings peace to my soul. Just call on Him to get you home the same way He got you there.
ReplyDeleteMatthew 5:16 Jesus says..."Let your light shine so that others will see your good and praise God." It sounds like you and His children in Africa did just that.
Love you to the sky and back! (Mark 12:30-31)
Aww, JC...I can't imagine how hard it is. I am crying for all of you.
ReplyDeleteBe safe as you travel, take the time to pray and reflect (and sleep!!)
I am praying for you travel, the children and for your adjustment to the US.
Please know that you have effected so many people not just in Africa but here - thank you for hearing HIS call and obeying.
Love you!
What a powerful journey for all of us! Cant wait for your safe return and to listen to your stories!
ReplyDeleteLove you, Trac
