Good evening all! Today was a great, but cold day. We started the morning off with a 3+ hour church service which most was in Nyanja not English. By the grace of God I was into it and got a little bit out of it. The music was amazing! Uncle G, Heidi (one of my roomies), Levi and Obey played most of the service. They are the band that plays on the ACE website video which I've shared with most of you. I'll buy a cd to share before I head home.
After church we went to exchange my mone then to lunch and market. My lunch was $600,000 I'm not sure I'll have enough to get home:). The money will take a bit of getting use to but Don and Jane were helpful. The market was just as interesting as I've been told. I wanted to buy everything. I don't think my suitcases will be empty (already got Gavin and Peytan something). We will try and go back next Sunday before I leave. I didn't want to spend too much at beginning of trip.
We got home about 17:00 (yes that's how they tell time and I of course have to count in my head what time it really is) and I thought I would jump on the computer real quick. That didn't work I heard the kids and had to go play. I was able to get a few names memorized and a few that remembered me. I think they're just excited to see a new face and someone that pays attention to them. They were climbing over each other to get my attention. So of course I stayed to feed them again. It's the messiest thing I've ever seen. We feed them N'Shima they say you haven't eaten until you've tried it. Its mush in soup and we feed to them with our hands. It's actually cute to see the older ones doing it by themselves.
Since dinner we've been hanging out...I've been chatting with family and now waiting on a new group ton arrive. They said it will get hectic once they get here. I'm looking forward to that!
So not sure how many pictures I'll get to take. This genius (me) opened my camera at church and the red light was flashing. I laid the camera out weeks ago and cleared the memory card but forgot to charge. I'm going to try to use the others chargers but I may be taking with my iPhone. I was pretty bummed about that. I've had a few big bone head moves (forgot debit card at walgreens had to get at 11pm before departing, forgot to get intl on my IPad so I can only get online in a room at house of Moses and then the camera). O well I'm here, the memories will be more than a picture can describe and I'm online enough to communicate that I'm ok! No complaints just errors on my end. Maybe God is telling me to enjoy while I'm out and not worry about pics and updates????
Well our new crew just showed up. Going to greet them and head to bed!
Have a great week everyone. Love you all!
Sorry I have some typos in all my post. I am not use to ipad and hit send before spell check.
ReplyDeleteWow 3 hour service! Don't tell Erik he will never go =).
ReplyDeleteI have been told the worship is some of the best there is.
What is the house like? Is it isolated or in a neighborhood. Do the kids ever get adopted?
Do you have any specific prayer requests?
I agree with you...would love to see pictures when you get home but you are doing a wonderful job already describing.
love you!
(Mark 12:30-31)

As I was driving and praying for you - I was thinking about you holding the babies and chasing toddler around - made me laugh and cry a bit. Eat the strawberry (still need to tell you that story) but enjoy the moment - pics cannot describe I am sure! As your mom said, you are doing an awesome job telling the story. Plus, iPhone pics are the best :) Love you, JC!
ReplyDeleteThinking about you a lot today for some reason! I hope you are doing well and enjoying your time. I can't wait to hear about everything when you get back! It's such a neat thing you are doing - it will change your life forever.
ReplyDeleteLove you!

Hey Jamestown! ISounds like you are changing lives and I dont mean just the kids. All of us following you have been inspired! I contacted The Special Olympics for a volunteer position today. I have been wanting to do it since we got here, but somehow I kept putting it off. Thanks for the push. I hope they call me. Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteI'm just now reading all of your blogs (I too do not know anything about how to do this blogging or follow it)! ;) What I do know is that you amaze me! Your posts make me happy and sad. I keep trying to fight back my tears but every time I think of those children and the love they are getting from you, they just start flowing! You truly inspire me to be a better person and I'm blessed to call you my friend. I just put my baby to bed a bit ago and I was thinking about you and those children and how lucky they are to have you there loving on them and how lucky you are to be receiving their love in return. I can't wait to read your next post, I hope I am a follower now. I hope you have a great day today!
ReplyDeleteWe love you!
Kasia, Jade, Hagan and Roscoe! ;)
P.S. I was thinking it's no wonder the Pitt / Jolie crew adopt so many babies...they just fall in love with them everywhere they go!
P.S.S. Wendi, I cant get the name/URL to work. Keeping getting error messages. :(
Hi Sweetie! :)
